Flower Farm Wedding

This styled wedding was inspired by the blooming flowers and blossoms of early summer. The palette of pinks and burgundy paired perfectly with the bursting gardens and greenhouse at Nightsong Farm. Some unique details include floral sugar cookies, rose petal ice-cubes, an organic, raw wedding cake and all local Vancouver Island vendors. We love how fun and romantic this shoot turned out, and we hope that it inspires you!

This beautiful furniture is from Darling Vintage Rentals in Nanaimo. Not only does Jenn have the best selection of on-trend furniture and props, she is also so wonderful to work with. Jenn will go the extra mile for you and the event you may be planning. When the publisher from Rocky Mountain Bride Magazine saw this shoot (published on their blog here) she said "This is darling!" and we couldn't agree more. Thank you Darling Vintage!

When Kim and I set the scene up at Nightsong Farm, we were blown away by how wonderful everything had come together. So many talented, local vendors helped to make this shoot exactly what we had hoped for and more!

Linda, who owns Nightsong Farm knocked our socks off with these flowers. Vancouver Island brides- you want Linda to do your flowers for your wedding day! She creates beautiful arrangements and grows many of the flowers right on her property which provides unique and local flowers you may not find elsewhere. She is also so sweet to work with and will truly make your event so special.

This local jewelry is made by Claire Crowfoot. With a specific idea in mind, I looked through her website and found the perfect pieces for this shoot. A Rose Quartz bracelet, necklace and earrings were the perfect shade of pink, and looked gorgeous on our Bride Brynna. The gold circle pendant called the Aadi Necklace was the best casual, yet trendy addition that I may just have to purchase for myself! You can find more of her jewelry here.

The floral sugar cookies were made my myself, Amanda, and were not as easy as Pinterest made them out to be! Is anything? haha. In the end, I recommend placing the edible flowers right onto the freshly baked cookie, or rolling pieces of petals right into the dough, then bake. Kim and I both filled our freezers with oversized rose petal ice-cubes that were so fun to make and pair with our floral mojito. Have you ever made edible flower cookies before? I would love to hear what worked for you!

Our Bride & Groom (Brynna and Brian) were so fun to work with. They both have the best sense of humor and looked awesome for our photo shoot! Both of them had their hair styled by Kim Kirkland Hair, who can make any hair idea come to life. Brynna's makeup was done by Jessica Pool and she did such a beautiful job. Both Kim and Jessica are amazing artists and a pleasure to know and work with.

A unique addition to our shoot was this organic, raw wedding cake! Brandy from Glow Juicery in Duncan did a wonderful job. Made of mostly strawberries, cashews and colored with beets, this raw cake can provide you with a delicious and nutritious option for your celebration.

We sourced Brynna's outfit ourselves by searching Winners and Varagesale! Can you believe this amazing outfit came from Winners and Varagesale? Well it did. You can find similar outfits on BHLDN, the bridal branch of Anthropologie!

Brian's outfit is made up of a grey bowtie from Le Chateau, the grooms own white shirt, Value Village suspenders (similar ones can be found at Le Chateau) and these awesome grey pants from Outlooks for Men in Duncan! Outlooks carries really stylish mens clothing- the perfect place for a groom to find just what he needs for the big day.

Inspired to have a garden wedding or flower inspired party yet? We would love to know what you think of this shoot, it was so much fun to put together!

So much thanks to everyone who collaborated with us! It is so wonderful to work with awesome, talented, creative, hard working people like all of you.
