We LOVED photographing Karin & Eric's wedding. It was such a special weekend for Kim, Amanda and myself as it was THE weekend that we officially started Three Sisters Photography! My (actual) sister Amanda and I photographed Karin & Eric's wedding together while my sister, (by choice) Kim, joined us for the weekend and helped put together the final edited images. We stayed at this gorgeous B&B on a mountain side and put our heads together to start something fresh and exciting!
The day after the wedding, we got down to business getting to know the area by doing a wine tour! some research. We sat on a hillside at Joie farms that looked out upon what seemed like endless vineyards. We had this delicious wood-fire pizza and bottle of wine on a picnic blanket in the sunshine as we discussed our upcoming business plans. It was quite magical if I do say so myself. We have agreed that we simply MUST come back to the Naramata bench every year.
We were excited to discover that a new vineyard had just opened, called...wait for it...THREE SISTERS winery. We took this as a sure sign that we were in the right place, at the right time with our new creative journey. (Shout out to our three sisters and their beautiful new winery! Go check it out here!)
Now back to this amazing wedding day...and incredible couple!
At the beginning of the ceremony, a slideshow was projected that told the story of Karin & Eric. Each of them growing up, then dating, and engaged. Just as the suspense and music had built, that is when the doors opened at the back of the church and Karin walked out to her groom. I wish you could have all felt the anticipation and excitement that was built! AMAZING!
It cannot be overstated just how much we loved this wedding. Karin & Eric love each other and their family and friends so deeply - and that was felt through every detail of their day. Mix that in with a beautiful bride and handsome groom with creative ideas and you've got a perfect recipe for great photos!
The joy buzzing in the air was infectious, and you could tell that the guests enjoyed every minute too.
I think the image above might just be my favourite image from the wedding. My sister Amanda captured this one. As I was going through the images after the wedding, the hair stood up on my arms when I saw this one! Love this sweet moment away from the busy day between the two of them.
These two adventurous and quirky soul's are perfectly made for each other. They wanted their images to reflect who they were, and we LOVE that.
Karin & Eric,
We wish you two all the best! We are so thrilled we got to be apart of your amazing wedding. We know that wherever you two go, whatever you do, there will be so much love!
To those of you that are reading... you should know that Karin makes these lovely little earrings and you should totally go check out her shop right now!
